Checklist For Extended Troop Travel

“Intent to Travel Form” should already be on file with the council office. |
|
|
Complete all items on the overnight activity form. |
|
|
Include an activity roster of all attending (to be updated prior to departure). |
|
|
Submit completed application to Neighborhood Chair no later than 6 to 12 months before travel! |
Chair recommends, sends copy to troop and Girl Scout Office for council approval.

|
Obtain all approvals before making final payments and other non-refundable fees. |
|
|
Call the Registrar at the Girl Scout Office a minimum of four weeks ahead of the event to purchase additional insurance if:

|
Please include the following information if troop is planning extended travel and/or increased risk activities such as rafting, rock climbing and trip camping: |
A. Skill level (novice, intermediate, experienced)
B. Special safety precautions planned
C. Specialized equipment to be used
D. Special consultants/resource persons involved
E. Other groups or organizations involved
F. Any special agreements or contracts required (For example, trip outfitter contract)
G. Itinerary, if activity involves more than one night.

Call your Neighborhood Program Consultant or the Girl Scout Office as you begin your planning for information, referrals to other troops who have done similar events or other assistance. |
