Dues

This is a contribution from each girl that stays with the troop. It is usually collected on a weekly basis to help teach girls responsibility and money management. The range of dues is often 25 cents to $1.00 weekly. However, the amount may be determined by the girls and Girl Scout leader based on their plans and family situations. Opportunity Funds are available for assistance.

The troop dues amount must be fair and affordable for all girls. Give parents the opportunity to express any concerns about the dues amount at a "Parents' Meeting". Leaders should make certain that each girl and her family understands that troop dues are collected for each meeting. Since dues cover troop expenses, girls missing a meeting should pay dues for that meeting at another meeting.

A Dues Record is available for you to use.  It will be provided at your first Leader Meeting

Dues Collecting Idea:  Use a coffee can - decorated if you wish.  Have one clothes pin per girl.  Write girls' names on the clothespins.  Attach the pins to the rim of the coffee can.  When girls arrive, they take their clothes pin and clip their dues to it.  Drop it in the bucket!

Dues Pouch:  A fun craft to make!   Girls can make this cute necklace money holder to bring their dues in each week in
