Parent Meeting

Don't worry if you are unfamiliar with everything discussed on this page.  Go over it and then come back to it after you have gone through the entire orientation!  The important thing to remember is that you should not try and do it all!  Involve the parents!!

  • Meeting Time, Date and Place

Uniforms:  Uniforms are not required to be a Girl Scout.  Most girls do want a vest or sash to display their earned recognitions and fun patches.  We would strongly suggest you wait to purchase a vest or sash until after your troop has met.  The girls might decide they all want the same thing!

Insignia:  Troop Numerals can be purchased after you have a Troop Number. Other insignia for the vest/sash include Council ID strip.  An insignia tab and the US Flag are optional.

Handbooks: Most age levels have a handbook and an awards book.  Daisy Girl Scouts have an Activity Book
