I’m coming to the Neighborhood Campout. Is there anything I need to know? You bet! There is an approximately 90 minute training required of all adults attending the campout. Volunteers will learn about using the camp equipment, safety and encouraging and supporting the girls as they try new and exciting things! You need to attend one of two training sessions, both at Murray Hills Christian Church. Attend on March 29 or April 21 at 6:30pm. I’ve agreed to be a Co-Leader for my daughter’s troop. What do I need to do? All Girl Scout Volunteers are required to complete the application process which includes an application, references and a background check. After your application is approved, we’ll get you signed up for the required training! To get started, contact Sue C. at organizer@neighborhood13-1.com. Springtime: Showers, Flowers and BRIDGING! As girls move from one age level program to the next, they take part in Bridging activities. Opportunities to make up Bridging requirements that utilize older girl help can be difficult, if not impossible to arrange. Please be sure your daughter attends these meetings/events so she doesn’t miss out! |

| April 22nd is Leader Appreciation Day… | ||
|
... and a wonderful time to let your Troop Leader know you appreciate all the time and effort she/he spends bringing a meaningful Girl Scout experience to your daughter! Some things troops have done in the past include: A home delivered dinner, an evening of free babysitting, an audio or videotape of each of the girls singing/saying thank you in her own special way and a sign at her/his door, "Our leader lives here. Thank you, ___.” Whether it’s a verbal thank you, a card, or something more elaborate, any act of appreciation will mean so much! |

Re-Registration Time Leaders will be receiving their Troop Spring Re-registration packets this month! You might be asking, “Why should we re-register now instead of waiting for the fall?”
Who Benefits From Family Giving? All of Us! Leaders get trained. Council camps get improved. And, most importantly, no girl is denied the opportunity to be a Girl Scout due to financial circumstance! Thank you in advance for your generosity! |

What is “SAM &
Me”?? “SAM & Me” is an event just for a Girl Scout and a “Significant Adult Male” in her life! This event encourages fathers, or another important male figure, to enjoy this special time with their Girl Scout. If this isn’t an option, girls are absolutely encouraged to bring an important female! Girl Scouts strives to be inclusive for all girls from all families. No girl is ever meant to feel excluded.
