| Preparing for a Girl Scout Outing: A Three-Step Process

In Step 1, the leader reads the planning checkpoints that are universally applied to all activities. They are general checkpoints that are considered before girls do any activity in Girl Scouting.

In Step 2, the leader reads the activity checkpoints that that apply to all activities listed under any category (water activities, land sports, camping activities). In Step 3, the leader reads the checkpoints for the individual activity (swimming, sledding, hiking).
