Girl Activities and Guidelines for
Babysitting as Money Earning

In order to ensure that babysitting as a Money Earning Project is quality Girl Scout Program the following guidelines have been developed. These guidelines will ensure that girls are prepared to care for small children.

Guidelines:

bullet Specifics about babysitting place, time, and audience

Name and contact information of adult that will be serving as the First Aider

bullet

Summary of girl qualifications (see chart below)

The families that the Girl Scouts baby-sit for should be known to the girls, i.e. – the event is marketed to families from their school, church, or neighborhood.

Children being babysat must be potty trained (no diapers).

bullet

The site should be child-friendly. Ideal sites include church classrooms, school facilities, day care facilities.

bullet

Non member insurance will need to be purchased throughout the Girl Scout Council Office.

Emergency information and contact numbers must be obtained

bullet

Girls should review their plans prior to the event.
