Girl Scout Leader, Co-Leader, Assistant Leader
RESPONSIBLE TO:
Neighborhood Chairperson
PURPOSE:
To provide Girl Scout program to girls in keeping with the mission of Girl Scouting: to inspire girls with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a positive role model for girls.
Review New Girl Scout Leader Packet and attend training.
Register each girl and adult member of the troop with Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
Work in partnership with troop to plan and implement Girl Scout Program.
Ensure that appropriate health and safety standards are followed.
Attend Neighborhood Leaders Meetings and when unable to attend, send an adult substitute.
Maintain troop records, including annual financial report.
TERM:
One year, renewable.
TIME COMMITMENT:
Flexible, depending on troop program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Is a positive role model for children.
Accepts the mission and principles of Girl Scouting.
Registers as a member of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.
Is interested in working with people of varied backgrounds.
Enjoys working with girls and adults.
Has effective communication and organizational skills.
Adult as defined by state statute. Cadette and Senior Girl Scouts may serve as Assistant Leaders.
